Timmonsville Rescue Squad

Presented to an Ambulance service that made less than 2000 calls during the previous year and which exemplifies outstanding professionalism and service to its community.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES SYSTEM OF THE YEAR (Category II – Large)

Horry County Fire Rescue

Presented to an Ambulance service that made more than 2000 calls during the previous year and which exemplifies outstanding professionalism and service to its community.

DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

Michael Byrd, Richland County EMS

Presented to an EMS or Rescue Squad Director who has contributed most significantly to EMS at the community, state, or national level.

JACK NILES AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION - PRESENTED BY THE SC EMS EDUCATORS' ASSOCIATION

Presented to that individual who has demonstrated outstanding contribution to the improvement of EMS through education and training of the community and/or EMS providers.

WARREN D. McBRIDE AWARD - PRESENTED BY THE SC EMS ASSOCIATION

J. Edward Allen, Beaufort County EMS (Retired)

Presented to that individual who has demonstrated outstanding contribution to the improvement of EMS through a continuing long-term commitment to the citizens of South Carolina.

EMS TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR

Tonsa Edwards, Columbia-Richland 911 Center

Presented to that individual who has contributed most effectively to the dispatch operation of an EMS provider.

PIER AWARD FOR PUBLIC INFORMATION AND EDUCATION IN EMS

Medshore Ambulance Service

This award is presented in recognition of outstanding public relations efforts to educate the public about emergency medical services, safety, drug use, drinking or driving, car seat safety and other injury prevention programs.

LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR - PRESENTED BY THE SC EMS ASSOCIATION

Representative Denny W. Neilson and Representative Dennis C. Moss

This award is presented to a South Carolina legislator who has been a significant supporter of emergency medical services during the previous year.
